Real Life Phone Calls from the Dead (Norwalk, CT)

It was early Spring, 1989, sometime around 3:00 a.m. I was awakened from a sound sleep by the ringing of the telephone. I remember rolling over and reaching for the receiver. I can recall how cold the plastic earpiece felt against my face. I sleepily said "Hello?" I heard a lot of static and muffled voices... ALOT of voices... like dozens of radio stations broadcasting on the same frequency, but not quite tuned-in clearly. Some of the voices were even speaking foreign languages. I said "Hello?" again, and heard a very faint "Hello". I realized it was my father (who had passed away in June of 1977). "Daddy?" It was a very one-sided conversation from that point on... He spoke quickly, as if he was in a rush... "Hi, Pumpkin! I wanted to let y'all know that I will be home soon. Tell Mommy I love her, and always remember that I love you, too."

I remember saying "I will. I love you, too, Daddy." And I hung up, rolled over and went back to sleep... like it was no big deal!! The next morning I bolted upright in bed, and immediately assumed that it was all just a dream. So I got myself ready for work and headed downstairs. My Mom was in the kitchen making coffee.- I walked up next to her, said good morning, and began to pour myself a cup. She then looked at me and said "Who called at 3 o'clock this morning?" You could have knocked me over with a feather! It wasn't a dream!! I relayed my Dad's message to her and we proceeded to discuss the event. We knew that nobody would ever believe our story, so I have pretty much kept it to myself.
